DJ LUCCA
DJ Lucca began performing as a DJ in 1999, but the dance scene has interested her
since she was 16, when she visited London. She began her career working for a promotions agency in the Boby Center, Brno,
where the first Czech dance parties with Paul van Dyk and Nick Warren took place in the mid 1990s.
The Czech Mersey agency took her under their wing in the year 2000; they booked
her to play at their legendary parties such as Supersonic Garage or the festivals Metronome and Hradhouse. Theanks to her
visit to the Red Bull Music Academy in Dublin, 2000, and numerous opportunities to play, boosted Luccas career, and soon became
known as one of the Czech Republic’s most successful DJs. In 2002, she was acclaimed „Newcomer of the Year“
by the Czech magazíne Bassline and one year later, in 2003, she became the most popular DJ in the Czech Republic according
to the Czech Dance Music Awards, which is regularly presented by the prestigous Czech magazine, XMAG. The same year, German
magazine Groove, placed her 9th in the category of „Newcomer of the Year“.
This success didn´t come just like that. Lucca has a great talent of creating a story
during her set, and is very experienced thanks to the fact that in 2002 she spun with a lot of great DJs during her time touring
Spain, such as Marco Carola or Gaetano Parisio to name a few. It was at that time that her deflection from tech house to the
harder Ital-Tech sound, which Lucca has admired to this day, had begun.
She is influenced by the melodic groovy techno of Italian producers. She cooperates
with Davide Squillace in the studio, is interested in the productions of Danilo Vigorito, Markantonio, Rino Cerrone, Gaetano
Parisio, Marco Carola, and among her favourites also belong Slovenian‘s Valentino Kanzyani and Umek, Scotsman Chris
Cowie and Brazilian Renato Cohen.
In 2002, Lucca started building her own studio and one year later she released her
successful debut Mirage 01 on Aquatrax. Harder tracks, Moon and Fastlife followed soon after for the German label, Definition.
Mirage 01 became a massive hit by the end of 2003 and in January 2004 Umek did an excellent remix. The remix is among Carl
Cox‘s favourite tracks, who opened with it in several of his sets during spring 2004.
In September 2004, Lucca established her own label, Acapulco, where her subtly psychedelic
track, Freedom, was released as a debut with Mirage 01 on the B-side.
From 2003, Lucca became part of Chris Liebing´s CLR booking. In 2003 and 2004, she
toured South America (Columbia, Brazil and Argentina) twice.
She is now resident in Frankfurt’s U60311 club, Fabric (Ostrava, CZ) and often
spins in the famous Spanish clubs La Real and Octopus (represented by the Spanish Hybernia booking agency).

MISSTRESS BARBARA
Drummy funky techno" is how Misstress Barbara describes her musical style. Misstress
Barbara ? and yes that is with four "s'" ? is dedicated to the hard-edge House and Hard Techno which is based in part to her
early taste for hard music.
Originally born in Sicily, Italy, by the time she was eight Barbara called Montreal,
Quebec home and where she has been ever since. Picking up some drumsticks and sitting behind a kit at 12 was her real first-hand
exposure to the power music would have over her life. As she grew up in the fabulous eighties, Barbara quickly felt a connection
with the hard banging styles of Classic Rock and Punk, which was the foundation of her Techno style, that has been her trademark
since 1994.
By 1995, Barbara had traded in her drum kit, picked up some turntables and a mixer to
hone her edgy style. In 1996 she got her first paid gig and hasn't looked back. Taking a few years to build a following throughout
Canada, she quickly built quite a reputation of being a kick-ass DJ. After proving her talents across the Mid-West, Barbara
took a gig in the UK, which brought her to the immediate attention of industry veteran and luminary Carl Cox. With such a
brief time behind the decks Barbara's talents rapidly expanded and she was in demand all over the world, in such eclectic
outlets as Asia, Europe and South America.
After graduating from the University of Quebec, Montreal with a BA in Communications,
Barbara was ready to dedicate herself full-time to her burgeoning career ? and where her real education began. Sure she had
bought some studio equipment while in college, but it wasn't until her post-collegiate days that her studio work became not
only a passion, but a driving force in her life. Heavily influenced by the shuffling of Jazz and the repetitive grooves of
Latin music, combined with her love of hard hitting Rock and the edge of Punk, has created a near-genius signature that can
be heard not only through her original materials, but in her full tilt sets around the world.
In 1999, Barbara established Relentless Records and released her first two ep's "Endless
Passion" and "Cry & Dry". In 2000, Barbara was back in the studio to produce her third single "For All There Is Left"
and is working on her first mixed compilation, and Moonshine Music debut, "Relentless Beats", expected in February, 2001.
Barbara aims high ? with the intentions of running her label, producing tracks for film
and video games, touring and producing killer tracks, her future success appears to be all within reach.
